Abigail Crafton | May 5

Abigail Crafton, organist, is a high school junior. She has studied piano since the age of three, singing since the age of four, and began trumpet in elementary school. At the age of ten she began the organ. In the spring of 2023, Abigail won both the local and Southeast Regional division of the American Guild of Organists Quimby Competition. As a result, she will be performing at the National AGO Convention in San Francisco, CA as a “Rising Star.” She has also been a prize winner in the Baylor University High School Organ Competition and the American Guild of Organists 2024 Young Artist Competition in Columbia, SC. She is the organ scholar at Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Savannah where she accompanies the cathedral choir and studies with its director of Music, Dr. Paul Thornock. When she is not at the organ bench, she likes to play softball, basketball, and sometimes, golf!

She will be presented in recital at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension on Sunday, May 5 at the conclusion of a short AGO guild service at 5:00 pm.  All are welcome!
