Often the first person a visitor or parish member meets when entering the sanctuary, ushers set the tone for worship by making everyone feel welcome. Beyond the welcome at the 10:30 am service, they distribute service bulletins, take up the offertory, and direct the congregation to the altar rail to receive the Eucharist.
